Physics is a natural science that studies forces, energy, matter and motion through space and time; it is a fundamental scientific discipline, and it helps people to understand how the universe behaves.

GCSE Physics

At GCSE level, MG Tuition Services helps students make sense of the foundations of physics, including energy concepts, electricity, matter, atomic structure, forces and waves, as well as the conceptually challenging topic of electromagnetism. We use a mixture of both theory and practicals to assist with understanding and we underpin the important maths skills required for success at GCSE.

We also adapt our teaching depending on whether students are working towards a single GCSE a double science award, or at foundation or higher tier. We can stretch and challenge those with enquiring minds to develop a deeper understanding of space or to ask questions about the origins of the universe, and we can actively engage with building electrical circuits to explore how electricity flows or determine the strength of Earth gravitational field.

A Level Physics

At A Level, physics is very much an applied subject requiring students to think conceptually and solve problems across a wide range of topics using a variety of skills. We have many years experience of delivering  sessions across all of the main exams boards, including AQA, OCR, Edexcel and WJEC, as well as different options, including astrophysics, electronics and engineering physics. We support students to make the conceptual leaps required from GCSE to A Level and we help them to understand the mathematics involved at every stage. Hence, where there are challenges understanding topics such as mechanics, electricity, quantum phenomena or fields we can help make sense of these. We have some excellent resources, a wealth of experience in answering exam style questions and we respond to the needs of students on an individual basis.

A Level Physics has always been one of MG Tuition Services most popular subjects and many of our students have progressed to study engineering, science, computing, architecture and environmental science at university, as well as join the UK’s public uniformed services.
